The challenge
Public-sector clients in Nepal needed spatial information systems for very different jobs: recording and mapping police incidents, planning energy at municipal level, and profiling municipalities and their households. Data often started as field surveys, and each product had to go from requirements to a tested, deployed application.
Approach
Took each assigned product through system analysis and requirements specification, design, development, testing, deployment and progress reporting, preparing requirements and design documents with technical leadership and customers.
Designed spatial database structures in PostgreSQL/PostGIS and published geoservices through GeoServer to support analytical mapping and dashboard-style decision support.
For the Gaushala Municipality Household Information System (internship, 2018), designed the database and migrated ODK survey data into it, then built the data visualization.
Tested applications across browsers for a consistent user experience.
